100 billion a year on Medicare

"A quarter of medicare's cost, about 100 billion a year,is spent in the final year of patients' lives. Nearly half of that is spent in their final month. Who should pay, and how much life-prolonging care is worth it?"(The Indianapolis Star) This struck me as interesting because when i get older i do not want to spend more money because when im there, heath care might reach unthincable prices. from the year i was born in 1987 to 2004 Health care consuption by people 65 and older continued to rise high. It started out below 200 billion, but by 2004 it had risen to 531.5 billion stagering the elders. This must be taken care of.
